Tubes are priced singly or as a pair. The Doopla 40 is a diffusion sleeve made for Titans, for a softer, more even line of light.

We have one Titan kit: eight tubes in a case. Hire a single tube, a pair, or all eight. Booking the lot? Ask for the full-kit rate, and about 2-day weekend and 3-day workweek rates.

What Titans do on a film or TV set.
In the frame
Titans are designed to be seen. Use them as practicals and set dressing: strip lights in a kitchen or bar, corridor fluorescents, neon-style accents, a line of colour along a wall.
Hidden in the set
Behind a sofa, under a counter, in a car footwell, along a door frame. With the battery built in there's no cable to hide or run back to a socket.
Effects that serve the scene
Each tube's 16 pixels can be controlled individually, so a single tube can do police lights, TV flicker, fire, lightning or passing headlights.
The same look every take
Set a colour or an effect once and it repeats exactly between takes and setups. On wet hire our technician sets up and runs the tubes for you.
Our tubes go to film and TV shoots, not events. We don't hire uplighting for parties or weddings. Dry hires need insurance for the kit's full replacement value. We deliver to set, or send a technician to rig and run the tubes.

Battery
Astera rates the Titan Tube at up to 20 hours, depending on brightness and colour. You can set the runtime you need and the tube adjusts its output to last. At full white output it runs for about 1 hour 45 minutes.
Control
Each tube can be set from its own on-board controls. Astera also offers app, DMX and wireless control as manufacturer features, but we don't supply control hardware: the kit is the tubes, charging block and holders. If your workflow needs app or desk control, bring the equipment you'll use.
Outdoors
Astera rates the Titan Tube IP65 with the cap fitted to the DC socket, which suits beach and night exteriors.
Colour
Full RGB plus tunable white, so the same tubes can be a warm practical in one scene and saturated colour in the next.
Building a look around Titans
Colour plus a key light
Titans make colour and texture, but they aren't a key. For a music video or night look, pair them with an Aputure STORM key light or an Amaran 300c.

How many Titan tubes can I hire?
Up to eight. We have one kit of 8 tubes: hire one at £35 a day, a pair at £60, or ask for the full-kit rate.

Can I control them from my phone?
App control is an Astera manufacturer feature, not something we supply. Our kit is the tubes, charging block and holders, with no DMX, CRMX or other control hardware, so if you want app or desk control, bring what you need. Each tube can also be set from its own controls.
What is the Lightsock Doopla 40?
A diffusion sleeve made for Titan tubes. It softens the tube for a more even line of light, useful when the tube is in shot. It's £20 a day.
Who is responsible if a tube is damaged on a rig?
On dry hire, the hirer is responsible from collection or delivery until return, and must insure the kit for its full replacement value. On wet hire, responsibility stays with us while the kit is under our technician's direct control.
Can I programme effects myself?
Yes, from the tubes' own controls or your own Astera-compatible control setup. If you'd rather not, book wet hire and our technician will set up and run the effects on set.
