Away from mains
Titans run on their built-in batteries. We don't supply batteries, generators or other location power, so everything else needs mains on site or power provided by production (the Amaran mats take V-mount batteries if production brings them).

Before a Sussex location shoot
Four things to tell us so the right kit turns up.
- Where will the vehicle stop? Distance and terrain from drop-off to set decide how much we can carry and how long it takes.
- What power is there? House or venue mains, a production generator, or nothing at all. It changes the kit list more than anything else. We don't supply batteries or generators, so with no mains, production arranges power or we plan around the battery Titan tubes.
- How exposed is it? Clifftops, beaches and open downland mean wind and spray. We'll plan stands, weights and weather-rated fixtures around it.
- Day or night, and for how long? Long daylight days need sun control; night exteriors need battery runtime planned in.
Wet hire on Sussex locations
What the gaffer or technician does
Drives the kit to set, rigs it, runs cable from the power on site and looks after it under your direction, so the crew can get on with the shoot. Wet hire days are based on 10 hours unless agreed otherwise; overtime is quoted case by case and extra days are charged.
What production provides
A safe place to work, including access and weather protection. Our technicians can refuse unsafe instructions and can pause work if conditions on an exposed location become unsafe.

Lighting hire doesn't include location permission. For filming on public land in most of the county, start with the Sussex Film Office. In Brighton & Hove, see the city council's filming pages. On private land, get the landowner's agreement, including for any cable runs and lighting stands.
Sussex hire questions
Do you deliver across all of Sussex?
Yes, and further: we deliver anywhere, case by case. Delivery is free within 30 minutes of Brighton on hires over a minimum hire value; beyond that it's quoted per job on time and mileage. Send us the location and dates.
What if the weather moves our shoot?
Tell us as early as you can. Our terms allow cancellation charges of up to 50% of the hire fee within 48 hours of the hire and up to 100% within 24 hours, so an early call gives us the most room to move your dates.
Do you supply batteries or generators?
No. We don't hire batteries, generators or other location power. Kit runs from mains on site or from power supplied by production. Astera Titan tubes have built-in batteries, and the Amaran F22c and F21c can run from V-mount batteries if production provides them.
Can a technician work on an exposed location?
Yes, on wet hire. Production needs to provide safe access and weather protection, and our technician can pause work if conditions become unsafe.
